Bachmann 12T SR Vent Vans
With the elliptical curve to their roofs, these are typical Southern Railway vans which survived into British Railways days. The roofs were notorious for leaking and were sometimes seen with a tarpaulin stretched over them to extend their lives.
Three versions of the van have recently been released and the first of these is 38-070B which has planked sides, is painted dark brown, carries a large 'SR' on each side and is numbered 48293. The second is 38-071B which is planked and painted in BR Bauxite brown, carrying the number S49230. The final version is 38-076B which as plywood sides and is also in BR Bauxite brown but is numbered B752909.
