Hornby first released their model of a Class N15 (King Arthur) in 2006 and 30800 Sir Meleaus de Lile is the twelfth model to date. This is in early BR green livery with an Ashford six-wheel tender. Separately packed and not fitted to the model in the picture are the brake rods for the loco and tender, cylinder drain-cocks, a NEM type front coupling, imitation articulated coupling, vac pipes, front steps and cab crew.
Sir Meleaus de Lile was a Southern Railway addition in September 1926 and had its smoke deflectors fitted the following year. It was painted in Bulleid olive green livery in July 1939 and repainted into black in February 1945. It was in this livery when transferred to BR stock in 1948. The locomotive was given its BR number in November 1949 when it was painted Brunswick green and given a smokebox door number plate. The model is seen in the livery it would have carried between this date and the end of 1958. It was withdrawn from service on 2nd September 1961, having completed 960,510 miles.
