Hornby Skaledale Railway Models Skaledale East Station & Waitingroom R8798.jpg (34569 bytes)

Four more railway models have been released in the cold cast resin Skaledale building series which is become a collectable range in its own right.

Skaledale East Station Building (R8798)

This is the main station building for the East Skaledale complex which is based on Dent on the Settle & Carlisle line. It is of a large stone building with dressed stone window and door surrounds and cast-iron window frames which pattern the glazing. There are maroon painted double doors at the front and rear of the building and a single door in one end.

Skaledale East Waiting Room R8856

This is built in similar (but not the same) style as the main Skaledale East station building and is designed as a stand-alone structure. It was possibly a later building, providing much needed extra space. as business on the railway grew. Like the main building, it has a single storey and matching doors. It is less ornate and has plain windows.East Skaledale Signal Box R8853.JPG (21837 bytes)

Skaledale East Signal Box (R8853)

This is another feature supposedly based on Dent station on the Settle & Carlisle line and matches the station buildings with its maroon and cream colour scheme. It is an upper storey box with a flight of steps giving access to the door and to a verandah which goes around three sides of the building. The box has attractively arched windows.

Cattle Dock R8790.JPG (16365 bytes)Cattle dock (R8790)

This is a much needed item for modelled rural stations and it is perhaps surprising that it was not included in the Skaledale range before this. Now we need some good 00 scale farm animals and some really good cattle wagons to complete the picture.
