Here are three more Skaledale models that don't fit into any of the above categories.
Old Toll House (R8754)
The house has a single storey with a square roof which carries an octagonal chimney in its centre. The building itself has a square floor-plan except in one corner where it is built out in a hexagonal bay or porch which contains the front door. The windows have shutters which are fixed in the open position. A timber structure, like an antler, stretches out above the front door and connects with the corner of the roof.
Corrugated Nissen Hut (R8788)
Initially, this seems a strange choice of subject but it could have
various uses. A group of them could represent an ex-army camp now used for storage or
small offices. One on its own could be used to extend and add interest to an industrial
complex and, no doubt, a use for the model will be found by wargamers. I wonder how many
will be peopled with Airfix WW2 British soldiers or turned into a prisoner of war camp.
Small Stone Cottage R8753
Here we have another building with plain side walls so that it may be incorporated into a terrace. It is a double storey structure with a simple pitched roof falling towards the front and back and a slim chimney stack at one end. There is a single storey, flat-roof extension at the back of the property which incorporates the back door. The doors are painted green and the frames around the doors and sash windows are blue.
