This BR wagon has an end door and is in standard BR grey. It represents a former private owner wagon and so carries a 'P' prefix to its number which is P60084. Before the Second World War, most coal transportation was in the hands of the collieries and coal merchants but the war brought a pooling of private owner wagons so that a co-ordinated coal transportation programme could be operated for the war effort. These wagons then passed into state ownership with the Nationalisation of the railways in 1948 with compensation being paid to their former owners. Few of the wagons survived the general scrapping during the 1950s. It is expected that this model will soon be in the shops.
