Hornby Shark Brake VanShark EWS.jpg (46472 bytes)

Those attending the press launch of the 2008 catalogue back in December were taken by surprise when an advance model of the Shark brake van was passed round as there had been no hints that Hornby were developing it. This was confirmation, if any was required, that Hornby are often well advanced with the development of models before they release the news of their intention to make them.

The Shark brake van has constantly remained at the top of the list of wagons requested each year in the MREmag Wish List Poll and so was an obvious choice. Three versions are now in the shops and these are EWS (R6411) in maroon and numbered 'DB993753', BR (R6412) in 'Dutch' Engineer's grey and yellow livery and numbered 'DB993782' and Loadhaul (R413) in the striking black and orange livery and numbered 'DB993715'.Shark BR.JPG (35215 bytes)

For those wanting a static model without the NEM style couplings, alternative ploughs are provided along with three pairs of pipes of different types and instructions, in typical Hornby fashion, of where they should be fitted.
