The Pullman cars were the first of Hornby's range of super-detailed
coaches and arrived in 2003. Five different types are produced and already a total of over
50 versions have been released. The two recent additions both have matchboard sides and
are a brake 3rd (R4150C) as 'Car No.162 Third Class' and a 1st kitchen car (R4145B) named
'Medusa' which dates from the early 1920s. Each model comes with close coupling
alternatives for fitting if tight curves are not a problem.
'Medusa', when new, was used on the Pullman Continental Express or White Pullman and would probably have been pulled by a King Arthur Class locomotive. It was built by the Midland Railway Carriage and Wagon Works Ltd in Birmingham and had seating for 22 passengers.
