The Maunsell range of coaches have been an outstanding success in meeting the demand for accurate and well detailed proprietary Southern Railway passenger stock. With Hornby's recent attempt at redressing the balance for Southern railway locomotives, they could not have come at a better time.
Two further models in SR olive green livery have been released bringing the total number so far in Maunsell green to 19. The new models are both 6-compartment corridor brake 3rds and are numbered '4050' (R4300C) and '4051' (R4300D). Hopefully, next year, Hornby will produce the models in Malachite livery and also as high window types. By producing both window types and with a good choice of liveries, these coaches provide Hornby with plenty of potential for the future.
