Hornby 3x weathered EWS CDAs R6385CDAs x 3 EWS.JPG (42109 bytes)

Triple wagon packs started in the late 1990s as a means of selling surplus wagon stocks at a reduced price. Later it became a way of offering 'weathered' wagons at a time of uncertainty about the likely popularity of these. They caught on and there have been many sets of three 'weathered' wagons sold over the last few years.

All three wagons in the box have different running numbers, in this case they are '375045', '375046' and '375047'. They are in EWS livery and carry the St Blazey's Cornish lizard motif. This suggests that they might be used for the transportation of china clay. Beneath the light 'weathering', the printing is as good as ever. The basic CDA model dates from 2003 when it replaced the 1988 model that was far less detailed.
