Hornby 8-Plank End Tipping Wagon
The 8-plank, end-tipping, wagon model dates from 1982 when it was introduced with the R515 and R528 operating tipper and conveyor sets. However, its value as a model in its own right was recognised in 1995 when Hornby started producing it as a solo model in a variety of liveries with the door opening lever removed. The Colman's Mustard and Barkby Jolliffe liveries were introduced in 2007 and they are both repeated this year with different numbers. R6345A Colman's Mustard now carries the number '34' and R6344A Barkby Jolliffe is numbered '806'.
The Colmans wagons were painted in the same colours as the Colman's mustard tin with a yellow body and solebar and with red ironwork. The lettering on the model is black, shaded in red and white. The wagons were used for transporting coal between the collieries and the works. Barkby Jolliffe, under the joint name, was active from 1932 and traded in domestic coal. The body is red and the lettering is white, shaded black.
