This is the latest of the former Lima models to see a rebirth in the Hornby range and dates from 1983. Lima produced five versions of it including the two liveries adopted by Hornby.
The real PWAs were built between 1968 and 1976 by various wagon
builders and were almost exclusively used for pallet loaded fertiliser. UKF were a major
user, transporting fertilizer from their plant at Ince in Cheshire
Hornby's first two liveries are Kemira Fertilisers (R6359) and UKF Fertilisers (R6358). The Kemira van is numbered 'SSTR 7044' and one of a batch built for Lloyds & Scottish. It should then have had the number prefixed with 'LS'. The UKF van is numbered 'SSTR 7301', which was one of the last batch built in 1975/6 by Procor for UKF. This 'SSTR' prefix was correct for that wagon.
