The Lima Mk3 sleeping car and TGS solved a problem for Hornby who had been badgered for some years about adding these types to their Mk3 coach range. Suddenly, they had the former Lima tooling for both coach types and a string of variations, with liveries matching those in Hornby's existing range, were being released.
The models started to appear in 2006 and already 10 versions of the Hornby Mk3 sleeping car have arrived. This version in First Great Western 'Fag Packet' livery was not in the 2007 catalogue. Although, no doubt, it would have been produced eventually, it became a late addition due to pressure from the public, including readers of MREmag. The coach is numbered '10584' and carries a 'K' label on one of the door windows each side.
