Hornby Class A4 BR 'Wild Swan' R2615A4 BR Wild Swan R2615 2.JPG (42955 bytes)

The Hornby A4 tradition goes right back to the first Hornby Dublo model - an A4 in LNER Garter Blue with valances and a corridor tender, which was released in 1938. The current run of Margate designed models is much more recent, the first series appearing in 1979. This ran through about 25 versions before the model was replaced by a more detailed one in 1998. Although the 1998 series was to last only six years, it ran through 17 versions in that time. The present series of super-detailed A4s arrived in 2004 and 'Wild Swan' is the 10th  so far.

60021 is in BR Brunswick green with early insignia on the tender sides. It has a single chimney and a non-corridor tender. It is in ex-works condition. The model has a fixed pony truck with 'roller' wheels and a pair of scale wheels is packed in the box for those who just want to display the model and not run it. Everything else is already fitted except for the cylinder drain cocks which could be damaged on curves if the nmodel were to be run with them fitted.
