Bachmann 24T Ore Wagon Millom 37-50424T_Ore_Hopper_Millom.JPG (7408 bytes)

The 24 ton small mineral hopper wagon was originally released in 1978 as part of the Mainline Railways range. Ten versions of it were produced before the demise of Mainline Railways. Kader resurrected the model for Bachmann in 1990 and it became one of the original range of Bachmann wagons for the British market. Six versions were produced befor it was upgraded to the Blue Riband range in 2001 and this is the sixth version to have been produced since then.

For the first time in its life, the model has been produced in Millom Iron Works bauxite brown livery as number 261 in the wagon fleet. The model is based on an an actual 20T wagon of different structure, belonging to the Millom & Askham Hematite Iron Co., dating from 1937 and built by Charles Roberts & Co. as one of a batch of 20.
