Hornby GWR Terrier Tank 'Portishead' R2679Terrier GWR Portishead 5 R.JPG (50051 bytes)

It was only a matter of time before we would see the Hornby Terrier tank model produced in GWR livery. When the Southern was thinning out its small tank engines, two were bought for use on the Weston, Clevdon & Portishead Light Railway in 1925. One of these was 'Gipsyhill' which became No.2 on the WC&PLR and then No.5 in GWR hands. Dapol, who originally developed the tooling and later sold it to Hornby, had releases GWR No.6 in 1988 and No.5 'Portishead' in 1999, both in GWR livery. The GWR 'shirt button' logo has been used on the Hornby model.
