For some years Hornby were under pressure from customers to produce
a Mk3 Trailer Guard Standard (TGS) to go with their HST but it never reached a high enough
priority in their very busy schedule. Then Hornby acquired the Lima tooling and the former
Lima TGS was added to the Hornby range in 2006. Four versions were released last year and
now we have two more liveries. Missing from the first batch were Intercity Executive and
GNER.
R4314 is in the (almost) black and beige of BR's Intercity Executive livery and is numbered '44057'. R4315 is in the familiar navy blue of GNER with the later red on the door at the train end (the guard's door remains navy blue) and is numbered '44356'.
