The late summer saw the release of Hornby's budget range which is called Railroad. This includes train packs, wagon packs, individual locos and items of rolling stock and two lineside accessories.
There are currently three wagon packs:
The Coal Train Pack (R6367) contains three identical large mineral wagons individually
numbered DB890221, DB890222 and DB890223. They are the old Hornby model of a large mineral
wagon of 1972 and are finished in EWS maroon and yellow livery.
The Fuel Train Pack (R6366) consists of three Monobloc tank wagons in the liveries of
Texaco (red as before but with a new number - '1627'), Shell (black like R6044 of 1998 but
now numbered 'RC65539') and the third one is in a completely new grey livery as Total and
numbered '407'.
The Breakdown Train Pack (R6365) contains the former Lima large rail crane in BR yellow livery numbered 'ADRC 96709', a long wheelbase open wagon 'Tredegar' numbered '5014' and a standard brake van (early model of 1967) in bauxite livery and numbered 'B952042'.
