A surprise this Autumn was the announcement by Hornby that they would be producing a six wheel tank wagon. They have used the Lima body but built a new GWR chassis to carry it. Starting from scratch with the chassis has meant that they have been able to incorporate NEM coupling pockets and fit small tension-lock couplings. Three versions of it have been produced and the sample we received was of the grey of Aplin & Barrett Ltd and numbered '1951'. This was the first of four built by the GWR for that company in 1942. The railway company owned the chassis but the tank belonged to the milk company.
