As with the earlier HST train pack in GNER livery, Hornby were unable to use the former Lima tooling for the locomotives as it was damaged and will need repairing before it can be brought in as a replacement for Hornby's own model. This dates from 1978 and shows its 30 years of age. However, the HST remains a popular subject and so the packs should sell.
We have not seen the Intercity (swallow) livery on this model for 10 years, although it has been used five times before by Hornby. The printing on the latest model is superior to that on those earlier versions. The power car is 43040 'Granite City' and the dummy power car is 43041 'City of Discovery'. The two coaches in the pack are both standard opens and are numbered '12116' and '12117'.
