The model of the Collett Goods 0-6-0 started life back in 1978 in Palitoy's Mainline Railways range. The model was tooled up by Kader in China who retained ownership of the tooling. With the demise of the Mainline system in 1984, the tools were stored until Kader established its European Bachmann company in the UK. The Collett 0-6-0 was one of the former Mainline models used to expand Bachmann's British range. It was reintroduced in 1996 and, so far, seven versions of it have been released - this being the seventh.
It is the second version to be produced by Bachmann in late BR green livery, the previous one having been in 1998. It is the first model of this class to be released as a 'DCC fitted' locomotive. In other words, it already has the decoder chip fitted. The subject chosen is '2244'.
