The GWR Class 45xx Prairie tank model dates from 2003 and this year's two versions bring the total released so far to eight. The current release is in BR lined green livery with late decals but no safety flashes and it carries the number '4507'. It is a highly detailed model and the only extra detail supplied separately is a vacuum hose for the rear bufferbeam.

The 45xx Class was a development of Churchward's earlier 44xx Class of similar 2-6-2 tanks. The 45xxs had larger diameter wheels and a slightly changed footplate profile. The real locomotives were built for branch line work where they were used on both passenger and freight trains. 4507 was built at Wolverhampton at the Stafford Road Works in May 1907 and was withdrawn in October 1963 after 56 years service. Four of the class survived into preservation but sadly not 4507.
