The Road Over Bridge (N8571) carries a road over a double tracked railway but could also be used to carry a single track over a railway or road. It represents a grey stone structure with a hoop arch which flattens at the apex and smoke staining has been effectively applied to the finished model. The ends of the bridge are vertical and smooth so that it can be used to abut another bridge or an embankment. The top surface has been left as a track rather than a road and flock grass verges have been applied.
The Railway Bridge (N8570) is to carry a single track railway over
a road. Traffic signs at each side of the bridge inform drivers that it has a road
clearance of 13’3". The cross sections of the bridge are light grey cast iron
with rivet marks. These are supported by brick embankment retaining walls, strengthened by
brick buttress wings. If you wished, you could use the bridge to carry a single line over
a double track but don’t forget to remove the traffic signs! This is a well made and
well painted model which will find its way onto many layouts.
