The fuel oil tanks (N8709) appear to have been assembled from many parts in order to achieve the amount of detail that the model carries. There are two storage tanks, with fine pipework and control valves, mounted on brick cradles. A black access gantry is built over the tanks. The area around the tanks represents sand to absorb any leakage Around three sides of the compound there is an anti-blast brick wall. This is a good example of how the Lyddle End range is steadily improving in detail.
It is thought that the discharge pipes (N8710) are intended to go with the N8709 fuel oil tanks and so are included here, but the model could have other industrial uses. It is a single unit consisting of two horizontal pipes, supported on blocks, each with a pipe feeding into it or drawing off it.
