This is an interesting train pack as it portrays a piece of railway history. In 2004, the First Group took over the operation of ScotRail from National Express and this included the prestigious Caledonian Sleeper service which connects the larger Scottish cities with London. To supply the motive power, First contracted EWS who own half the Class 90 fleet. The sleeping cars have undergone a £1m refurbishment and the livery has changed more towards First designs. Even the two Class 90 locomotives used have been repainted in First ScotRail livery but carry the EWS logo in the cabsides.
In this pack we have 90024 as the motive power and three of the former Lima Mk1 sleeping cars in the new Caledonian Sleeper livery. These are cars number 10607, 10680 and 10613. An additional car is available as a solo model.
