The GWR brake van dates from 1977 being one of the first models in the Airfix range to arrive. Three versions of it (one BR and two GWR) were produced before Dapol acquired the tooling and produced a further three GWR versions. Since Hornby acquired the tools, they have produced 15 versions of their own, this being the latest. The model is in GWR dark grey and numbered '68898'. It is allocated to the railway yard at Dowlais Caeharris, near Merthyr Tydfil.
