The Hornby Sealion bogie ballast hopper wagons make use of the body moulding of the Lima Sealion of 1984 and detailing parts from the Hornby Seacow of 2005. The model has been released in three different liveries with three different numbers for each livery. Sealions are dual-braked and can be distinguished from Seacows by the presence of two large vacuum cylinders on one end platform instead of the single much smaller air brake mechanism. They were built from 1971 to 1974 and initially did not have overhead shields to protect the staff. The shields are thought to haveSealion_Departmental_W_R6329C.jpg (13156 bytes) been added to prevent staff getting too close to overhead cables and it seems unlikely that they were seen during the olive green period.
