Three vans from Hornby's existing wagon range have
been released in BR Railfreight grey and red livery. The smallest is the Vanwide VEA short
wheelbase van which dates from 1979 and of which there have been 19 versions over the
years - including several fictitious private owner ones. The current model (R6352) is
numbered '230117'.
The VDA long wheelbase van dates from 1980 and this (R6349) is the 21st version of the model. It has been released in 8 various Railfreight liveries before but this one is numbered '200650'.
The third Railfreight van is the VIX Ferry van model which is the oldest of the three,
dating from 1970. This makes it a Tri-ang Hornby model. This too has been seen in many
guises over the last 37 years and this is the 13th. The model (R6351) is numbered '2390
249-7'.
