The development of Southern Railway and Southern Region models by Hornby, culminating in the production of a Atlantic Coast Express train set, has greatly added interest to this famous service. The ACE was one of the more interesting 'named' trains and ran from Waterloo down into North Cornwall. It was made up of sections and was divided en route to serve different areas. It had its origins in the Ocean Mail expresses of the London & South Western Railway but was not formally named the Atlantic Coast Express until 1926. Although a picture album, the photographs are well supported with text which follows the train, and its detached sections, to their destinations.
