The Changing Railway Scene - Southern Region

This is the third book in Ian Allan's series that looks at the evolution of the railway scene on a region by region basis. In this volume it considers the Southern Railway and particularly its successor, the British Railways Southern Region. It takes the story up to the end of steam in 1968 and is broken down into subjects which include express passenger services, branch lines, suburban activity and pick-up freights. There are 190 previously unpublished coloured photographs and the book has been written with both rail enthusiasts and railway modellers in mind.
