This the latest in a much spread-out series that, area by area, looks at rural railways that were so much more common before Dr Beeching's axe fell. The many black and white photographs it contains are drawn from various collections and remind us of a bygone age when the railway provided a service to so many rural communities. It was a life that was humorously portrayed in the BBC television series Oh Doctor Beeching! written by David Croft and Richard Spendlove. The book looks at thirteen lines which include the Kent & East Sussex Railway, The East Kent Railway, The Sheppey Light Railway and The Canterbury & Whitstable Railway. This is an OPC imprint.
