In their Tramway Classics series, Middleton Press has released this book on the most popular and iconic of Britain's tram systems. In 1885, Blackpool saw the introduction of the country's first electric street tramway and, until the current trend in modern tramway building, it had Britain's only operating electric street tram system after 1962. The first streamlined trams appeared in 1933 and the book celebrates their 75th Anniversary. It is very well illustrated with black and white pictures drawn from several private collections - few tram systems will have been as well photographed as this one. The book also contains maps and track plans and a list of all the existing cars with their numbers, year of build, structural type and current status. The book is a 'must' for those who love Blackpool's trams or who want to learn more about them.
