The book links nicely with the recently reviewed volume in the same series that looks at the branch lines around Lydney - a branch South from Ross-on-Wye once met the former at Lydbrook Junction. A second branch line stretched Southeast to Grange Court where it turned Southwest and split into the Blakeney and Cinderford branches which turned Northwest. The third branch line from Ross-on-Wye once headed North to Hereford. All of these lines have gone and today Ross-on-Wye has no rail connection. All of these branches had been part of the GWR network. The book contains the usual excellent selection of black and white photographs, maps and other statistical information.
