The Dunstable Branch ran Southeast from Leighton Buzzard down to Hatfield. The stretch from Leighton Buzzard to Dunstable was over former LNWR tracks and that from Dunstable to Hatfield followed lines that once belonged to the GNR network. The stretch of line between Leighton and Dubstable was the oldest, being a branch off the London - Birmingham line and opened in 1848. The branch closed in the 1960s. The book contains an interesting selection of black and white photographs (many from the authors' own collection), together with the usual extracts from early Ordnance Survey maps, ticketing information and timetables.
