Branch Line to Monmouth

Perhaps the book should be called 'Branch Lines From Monmouth' as it covers four lines that branch out from the Welsh county town. Heading in a south-westerly direction is the longest of the four which goes as far as Pontypool Road, not far from Pontypool itself. Heading almost directly south is the Wye Valley line to Chepstow and heading south-east from Monmouth, the shortest of the four terminates at Coleford. The final branch is another short length and runs in a north-easterly direction until it meets the Severn Wye Joint Railway at Lydbrook Junction. The book follows the normal Middleton Press format of black and white photographs, sections of OS maps, timetables and ticketing information. It is full of GWR rural scenes for the modeller.
