As any railway enthusiast or film buff will know, the USA has some spectacular railway bridges and few come more impressive than the famous trestles that the 'baddies' loved to blowup in the movies. Several are illustrated in the book as well as 'metal viaducts' including the 301ft high Kinzua bridge, built in 1900, on the Erie Railroad and which was put out of action by a tornado in 2003. There are American and Canadian bridges of all types covered by the book which is rich in both pictures and easy to read text. Definitely one for the coffee table.
