This book is in the Midland Main Lines series and includes Newport Pagnell and Northampton. The course of the narrative sets off north from Bletchley until it reaches the branch to Newport Pagnell, which it follows to its destination before returning to the main line. North of Roade, the line divides and the reader is taken up the right-hand route to Northampton. At one time Northampton was the meeting point of lines from all directions but to day all have gone except for the route we are following. The stations along this way, such as Church Brampton and Althorp Park, have also disappeared and only Long Buckby remains before Rugby is reached. However, before reaching Rugby, we are taken back to where the line branched above Roade. This is now followed through Blisworth and Welton and into Rugby by way of the western route. The book enjoys the usual Middleton Press format of photos, maps and ticketing information.
