The Festiniog Railway is one of the most famous and best loved narrow gauge railways in Britain and, indeed, the world and this is a very detailed and well illustrated book which is destined to be a classic on the subject. There are attractive coloured maps of the area on the inside front and rear covers and a large index to help you find information quickly. The text leads with an extensive history of the building of the railway and is supported by many early illustrations. The author has been actively involved with the railway for a long time including a long period as editor of the preservation society's magazine. He has written other books about the Festiniog but more recent research has uncovered much new material which is included here.
