- 1 locomotives was built in 1829 and won the
Rainhill Trials before entering service in 1830 on the Liverpool & Manchester Railway.
It was sold to Lord Carlisle for use on his railway in the Tyne Valley. It was withdrawn
in 1862 and presented for preservation at The Science Museum. A working
replica was built in 1979

- 1 locomotive was built in 1838. It was sold to Mersey Docks where it operated alongside other
withdrawn locomotives as a stationary pumping engine. Forgotten, its true identity was
only discovered when electric pumps were installed in 1928 and The Liverpool Engineering Society campaigned to
preserve it. The London, Midland &
Scottish Railway restored it to working order in 1930 for the centenary of the opening of
the Liverpool & Manchester Railway. Its main claim to fame was its role in the film
The Titfield Thunderbolt. This locomotive remains preserved
